Nowhere Public Art Museum Responsive Website

Coursera's UX Design Certificate supplied prompts to choose from when building a responsive website for our second project. I chose to continue with the prompt, "Build a mobile app for a public art museum that advertises exhibits and events, provides museum information to patrons, and enables patrons to schedule visits."

My goal was to create a smooth-flowing design that was simple and easy to use for anybody. Since I had already created the mobile app for my first project, I was able to focus more on the design element of the website itself. I gave the images different proportions and focused on the scale to show the different types of clickable options.

I used the site map structure from my first project as well as the user personas and journey maps. I completed another competitive audit, this time focusing on responsive websites, and designed my digital wireframes to reflect those concepts.

When designing the responsive website, I used the desktop format in Figma and doubled the length to create a full scrollable layout. This helped me better understand how to develop the Z-shaped model layout that I wanted to use to give the user the cleanest and clearest experience possible.

Minimalism and simplicity were key components of my design process. I wanted to include brightly colored images to contrast the simple design and elevate the look. I used WCAG-approved fonts and colors for inclusivity.

I would like to extend the design build to include a job search page, individual exhibits, activities and event pages, and shop category pages. I would also like to continue my accessible-friendly build to meet all user needs in the future.
