Nowhere Public Art Museum Mobile App

Coursera's UX Design Certificate supplied prompts to choose from when building a mobile app for our first project. I chose the prompt, "Build a mobile app for a public art museum that advertises exhibits and events, provides museum information to patrons, and enables patrons to schedule visits."

Going into the project, I knew I wanted to design with accessibility in mind. I conducted user research, competitive audits, and created user personas. I took those personas and created journey maps to understand the target user's needs.

I discovered that some art museum apps are over-complicated and overwhelming for users, especially those with disabilities. This realization led me to create an art museum app design that was easy to navigate, quick, and left the user happy with their experience. I used a hierarchical model site map with a sequential model reserved for payments and search options.

After my usability study, I learned that my design and user flow were easy to use and made my users feel confident in their tasks. I continued the minimalist design choice and created a mockup and high-fidelity prototype using WCAG-approved colors & fonts. I also created a personalized logo for the company using Canva.

In the future, I would like to learn more about creating accessibility-friendly designs and using visuals and motion in Figma to include in this and other projects to enhance user experience and my design knowledge.
